FL MUD Development History
Diku MUD
|
FL Mud traces it's roots back to Diku, and then SillyMUD. In
the early 1990's FL MUD started as a SillyMud derivative. It has
since had the following periods of development:
- 1991 - 1995: During this early years FL remained very
similar to SillyMud. This version of FL MUD remains free for
distribution and reuse. It is now online here.
- 1996 - 2000: By 1996 Paul Cole, Jonathan Monteleone
(Mulac), and Joel McQuilliams had made enough changes to the mud that
it made the translation from a heavily modified SillyMud, to being not
recognizable as a SillyMUD. The pace of change continued greatly,
with other MUDs being developed was FL MUD as an inspiration and a
source of ideas for them.
- 2001 - 2007: This was a time of great growth,
development, and turmoil for FL MUD. Different Administrators,
including Hummel, Darwin, Vishnu "Vengeance" Persaud, and Nighfall managed FL.
- 2008 - Pressent: FL MUD is now back.
