Fellow Adventurer,

As you enter the dangious realm of Keiler, the advice I have for you is the advice my Father wrote me the day before I joined the Ranger Guild.  I shall now share that advice with you.

Dear Son,

While you were a youth I was your father, and along with your brothers and sisters, we were your family.  But, now with your new vows in the Ranger's Guild, you have a new family.  Learn well all that your guild teaches you, be loyal to your Guild, and always conduct yourself with honor.  Here is my advice for your first few days:

  1. You will be required to choose a name when you take your vows.  That is your first major decision.  Pick a name that is true to your calling.  Do not select a name with haste, for that is what you will be called for the remainder of your life.
  2. Carefully pick your password.  Make sure it is one that is not easily remembered.  A poor password could mean death.
  3. You will then be asked to register your race, you are human, and to describe your upgringing.  This should only take 30 seconds or so, just be honest.
  4. Then, you will be asked to take your actual vows as a Ranger.  In taking this path you are choosing a class that is more difficult than I would suggest for most.  For most young adventurers, I'd suggest Paladin as a good class.  However, one should always choose a calling that is best for them, what they want to do with their lives, not just pick that class which is easiest to learn.
  5. When you start your adventure, you'll be given a parchment - read it carefully.
  6. Make sure to wear the equiptment you start with.
  7. A great place to start for experience is the zoo.  it is south, south, south, east, south from the fountain.  Make sure to type "con <monster name>" (for consider) before fighting anything.
  8. Never hesitate to ask for help, but remember you are an adventurer.
Finally, my son, enjoy every minute of your time.
